Hi, I’m Maria, a clinical psychologist. I offer a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can explore your challenges and work towards meaningful change. I work with adults and older adolescents (16+) and take a collaborative, inclusive approach tailored to your individual goals, needs and preferences.
I have a special interest in the intersection of mental health, diabetes, and eating behaviours, and I work as a diabetes psychologist within a public diabetes service. In this role, I support people experiencing the emotional and psychological impact of living with diabetes, including diabetes distress and burnout.
I can support you with:
· Anxiety, worry, and phobias
· Body image concerns
· Coping with chronic health conditions
· Depression
· Diabetes distress and burnout
· Disordered eating and eating disorders (18+ only)
· Emotion regulation difficulties
· Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
· Sleep difficulties and insomnia
· Stress and adjustment to significant life events
I draw on a range of evidence-based therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), CBT-Enhanced (CBT-E) for Eating Disorders, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing.
Outside of work, I enjoy exploring new places to eat, spending time by the water, staying active, and hanging out with my cats, Basil and Lettuce.
Education:

If my approach resonates with you, please feel free to get in touch. I look forward to working with you.
